Where can I buy Framed prints of New York?

I first went to New York when I worked for a picture library in 1989. My job then was to take pictures of mountains and beaches, travelling to remote locations and spending long days composing landscapes. This was in the good old days of film, when the internet and digital photography were still some way off, and every roll required care and patience. On my way back to London I would drop my film off at the office in New York and often spend a day or two as a tourist, wandering the streets and soaking up the atmosphere. It was in New York that I first began making images of cityscapes rather than London, experimenting with light, geometry and movement. Although I loved being out among those mountains and beaches, they felt like a means to an end—my real passion lay in photographing cities..

The years have gone by and I’ve only been back to New York a few times, generally en route to somewhere else. Each visit I take the opportunity to make a few more prints to keep my collection fresh and updated. The Statue of Liberty is such a superb black and white subject, and when the clouds behind her are looking dramatic I’ve managed to create some great sets that work beautifully when hung together. Both up close and seen from miles away she remains an easy, reliable subject that rarely demands complicated camera exposures. I shoot on medium format film, which gives me the latitude to produce very large, detailed prints when the image calls for it.

Prints of the Statue of Liberty make great standalone pieces, offering an iconic focal point for any room. There are many other striking individual architectural details and buildings throughout New York, but much of the skyline is defined by a continuous row of towering skyscrapers.
