Black and white prints of Prague for an office.
Although most of my clients gravitate toward prints of London, Paris and New York, I also offer some of the most beautiful standalone pieces in the Prague collection. These images work particularly well in offices and other commercial spaces. Generally, larger framed prints are preferred for professional environments. The print below — showing the long shadows on Charles Bridge — is a limited edition in a black frame and is currently hanging in a home office in South London.
The prints below show just how much of a dream black and white photography can be in Prague. Lovely, deep shadows and rich, dark blacks combine to produce truly striking prints. When I make these prints I often leave the paper in the developing solution a little longer than usual and move it into the fixing bath only once the blacks have reached a satisfying depth. I also use shutter speed to my advantage: the print below on the right was taken at 1/60th of a second to capture a hint of movement among the birds roosting in the tower at the end of the bridge. Both of these images are limited edition and supplied in elegant black frames, each finished by hand.
Getting up high in Prague can noticeably improve the view. Looking down from the castle provides an especially excellent vantage point. The print below shows the bridges gradually disappearing into the distance, which reminds me a bit of Florence where the bridges form a similar, receding pattern. In the evening, when there is still enough ambient light left in the sky and the street and bridge lights begin to come on, Prague truly becomes a magical place. I always use a tripod and a cable release when the light is slow. Very few of my cityscapes and panoramic images are handheld.
