What is the best black and white photography for an office?

Whenever I’m out photographing a commission or looking to expand my own gallery of prints I’m always looking for sets of prints that can hang together on a home or office wall. Large wall spaces either need a statement piece like a large 52” wide panoramic print or a set of smaller prints.

What is Fine art photography and what are Fine art prints?

The definition of Fine art photography is as follows: “photography created with the intent of conveying an idea, message, or emotion through artistic expression, rather than simply capturing a moment or event. Where can I buy framed London wall art?

Panoramic prints are generally the size that works best to fill a large space on an office wall. The London panoramic prints in the gallery here are framed and although the standard size is 52” wide we can print to larger sizes. Many offices struggle to find large prints and in many corporate entrance and reception areas our clients are looking for something striking to hang on the walls for their clients to see when they arrive.

What are the best photography prints for an office?

At the beginning and the end of the day when the sun is low in the sky in a city landscape silhouettes are everywhere. If you pointed an iPhone at the image below is would’t allow you to underexpose the subject and over expose the sky. If you used the automatic setting on a camera the same would happen as the metering system on auto would take a reading from the large expanse of very bright sky. You’re also looking directly at the sun.

Framed Prints of Richmond Hill in Autumn. London.

London is such a green city and even in the high rise bits in the city there are pockets of green everywhere. The change of season, particularly in Autumn make our green city a photographers dream. Every year I take a trip to the top of Richmond Hill and take this shot again. I always try and get enough elevation so I can see the bend of the river. It’s a panoramic view too so I have a number of panoramic prints of this view in my gallery.

Why we use black frames. Black frames work well as sets.

You’ll see in my galleries all of my prints are in black frames. There are two reasons for this. I like to show my clients a real print in a real frame because I make everything by hand and I like to think that my prints work so well in sets that the frames need to be the same.

Framed Prints of Battersea Power Station London.

Battersea Powers station has undergone huge change since I started producing prints of it in 1985. Then it was all a bit of an eyesore and one developer after another would promise all sorts of improvements and then go bust or sell it on to the next developer. I’ve lived in South London since then and I have a large set of limited edition colour and black and white prints.

Framed prints of Prague. Perfect for a for home office.

Prague is a photographers dream and over the years I’ve taken some of my best black and white images there. The first time I went to Prague I went on a stag trip and didn’t take that many images but I knew I had to go back. The second time I took more gear than I needed and I came back from that trip and made some amazing black and white prints which I still have running as limited editions today.

Albert Bridge at Night and London prints

When I first came to London in February 1985 I had a friend who lived in South West London and I was invited to a party in Battersea Park. As a young photographer thinking about what I should do next in my life I stood next to The Thames looking out of the most beautiful bridge. When I first saw The Albert Bridge and had no idea that it would play such a large part in my life.

How to Choose Artwork for an Office Reception Area

If you live in a small London flat and wall space is limited then it makes sense to pick a print that is proportional to the wall space you have. Our medium size framed print is generally about right at 26"x20", the print size 18"x12". The price is £145.00. If you work in an office and you have acres of wall space a panoramic at 52” wide would fill the space nicely. Panoramic prints are perfect for offices.

Large Framed prints, perfect for offices

Panoramic prints and the large size prints we do are generally best suited to offices. If one standalone print doesn’t do the job then a set of smaller matching prints will sometimes be just as good. Most offices like the larger prints.
