My New York prints and most of my Paris prints were taken with a Canon 1DS Mk11. Most of the London prints were taken with a Bronica ETRSI.

The Panoramic print is something quite different from your normal landscape or portrait print. The shape is different and the subject matter is also often unique to the frame shape. Wide angle shots fit the panoramic frame perfectly and views from bridges and seem to fit the shape perfectly.

It’s the first thing I notice when I go into an office is are there nice pictures or art on the walls. Maybe it’s just me but it says so much about a business and if there is great art of the walls. If it’s fine art photography it’s even better.

The Plaza Hotel County Hall at the south end of Westminster Bridge in London has two of my framed photographs either side of the bed in each of the ‘superior’ rooms. This was a commission and I loved every minute of it.

Many offices in London have another office somewhere else in the world. When offices are looking for art to hang on their walls the question is always what should the art be about? The connection to the other office is an obvious one, and the office pictured here decided on using our framed New York prints in their London office.

Battersea and Clapham are two bits of London I know well. I’ve lived there for over 30 years. I had a market stall on Northcote Road for many years where I sold my London prints every Friday and Saturday. My framed prints of Clapham and Battersea were always popular and when it snowed it was an opportunity to add more prints to my collection.

A print of Albert bridge is the perfect leaving gift. You probably have to live in South London to appreciate it. If you’ve got a colleague leaving or retiring a print is so much more personal than a set of cufflinks or a trip to a spa. It’s a South London icon and my daughters used to call it the ‘pretty bridge’ Searching for a leaving gift is a hard job.

Most of our clients are commercial businesses with offices. Many of those clients have an office in another city and it’s very common for a London office to have a sister office as well in New York. It makes sense for the office art they choose to represent the city where the business is represented. It also makes the employees feel special and reminds the client that they are dealing with a worldwide business.

I was talking to a mate at the pub about my stall on Northcote Road, London between 2003 and 2012. I couldn’t find any photos on my phone to show him so I thought I must write a blog about my stall and where the photography on this website all began.
